A New Year!

It's been an exciting year of new beginnings and unlimited possibilities. The MKC saw a close to its inaugural year, and we can't wait for more! We welcome 2014 without open arms, open minds, and open hearts.

Just because something was a certain way, doesn't mean it needs to continue to be that way.
While 2013 may have been the year of "It is what it is" for some, it doesn't need to continue to be so.

Let's make 2014 the year of "It is what it is-- How can I change it for the better?"

This is the exact attitude that led to the creation of the Maria Kaupas Center! Amy Eckhouse, Program Director, had a vision to bring restorative justice to the residents of Chicago Lawn (Marquette Park) neighborhood.

Maria was closing-- that was what it was. With heavy hearts the Maria family saw the end of an era. Though, with every ending we are presented with a new beginning. This was the opportunity that brought to life the gifts of our amazing MKC family  and mission-driven support that brought the Maria Kaupas Center to fruition.

It was what it was-- but that didn't have to be then of it. We made it better.

We are dedicated to bringing these simple, yet necessary elements to our students, in order to serve them in a holistic way.

Our staff is keen to provide love, support, and guidance in all elements of the lives of the teens we serve.

Let's make 2014 amazing.

Change the world, change it for the better, and remember, in all we do--

Always More
Always Better
Always with Love
